Adornit LOVE Wood Banner

This was a new one for me. And now it's a favorite!

I'd not covered wood with paper and embellished it... but Adornit has made such a great wood letter banner series (with instructions on the packaging even!) that I couldn't resist trying it out.

Karen at Paper Pals had all the products and gave me the help I needed to do the project (She's great for that--stop in to the store for inspiration and assistance, too.)

I used the Making Memories "Love Struck" line-- so cute. I like to use simple geometric patterned paper and then embellishing from there.

I love Glossy Accents and Stickles, so I decorated all the letters with one or the other. The fun hanging wood shapes are also embellished with gloss and glitters. I used several pieces from the "Love Struck" valentine tag sheet and glitter stickers too.

My daughter even got to help! She loves being a part of my "grown up" crafts, but I'm also selective of the "help" I receive. She did a GREAT job painting the back sides of the letters with brown acrylic paint.

It's here! The February issue of Creating Keepsakes! With my layout inside!!!
I first blogged about this here. And the day has arrived. It is a bit surreal seeing my name in print.

Yep, it's here. One of my favorite holidays. Basically because I feel like I need an excuse to do anything fun for myself.

This is the second year I've celebrated National Scrapbooking Day. And I invite you to join me too!

Visit the DT Blog for a Giveaway!

Speaking of Design Team, I just posted some new layouts and cards on the DT blog. First is my Craft It Forward (remember this post?)creation for Brittany... here's a sneak peek!My favorite part of this 12x12 layout is what's in this photo-- it emphasizes the laid back lifestyle you enjoy in Saipan (if you're lucky enough to live there). I made the timepiece look smashed (using a digital brush). The text on the embellishment card says "YOUR NEXT APPOINTMENT TIME IS ____________"... I filled in the blank with the word "Irrelevant". Wouldn't it be nice to ditch the schedule once in awhile?

(Anita and Heather...I've got ideas to Craft It Forward for you too, now I just need to get creating! Someday soon...)

And, specifically for my sisters, I created a layout featuring the three of us Sawyer girls. I used my favorite pic of Julie, Suzanne and I from back in 1982-ish. Here's a sneak peek for that one, too.
