More Projects for the Store

Here are a couple of sneek peeks for some layouts I did for my LSS, Paper Pals. You can see more details about all my layouts by visiting the Design Team Blog.

My favorite is the layout where I quote the verses Romans 7:18-25. A recent goal I've had is to focus more on the writing that goes onto my pages versus just photos and pretty embellishments, and I also want to share more of my faith in my pages for my kids to read in the future. This layout does both.

It's also a confession that following Christ is not easy, and I struggle with wanting to do things my way. Thankfully God "gets that" and is still there for me!

Another layout features my 2nd grader's artwork. She amazes me, and I love to make *some* of the artwork she creates important enough to feature on a layout.

When Dwayne took the kids fishing last fall (thanks Dr. Mike and Mr. Chris!), they got some great shots. Paper Pals had some fun paper that worked well for a layout to commemorate the fishing trip.

I've had some serious fun doing these layouts! What's been fun for you lately?

Scrappy Class

I don't consider myself a very good teacher. But I was flattered when a neighbor asked me to share my passion of scrapbooking with her friends.

Sooo... tomorrow is it! I'll be teaching a small group of Japanese women the basics of scrapbooking. I've put together some kits to make two layouts and a card.

I'm really looking forward to the opportunity and bringing yet more women into this fabulous hobby! I'll even get to meet some new friends (and possibly a word or two in the Japanese language). Wish me luck!

being your mother is a joy

I recently created this layout to celebrate Mother's Day. (scraplifted from Emilie Ahern)

I'm so thankful to have the role that I have as mom of these three great kids. Every day is a challenge and there is more than one occasion each week where I want to pull my hair out (just keepin' it real!), but I think my smiles and know my LOVE for them outweighs the hard stuff.

I often question my tactics and choices and definitely say and do things that I'm not too thrilled with later. But my kids love me and forgive me. And we all just try to count on eachother as we learn how to be the best peeps that we can be!

A shout out to my two sisters who are enjoying their first Mother's Day this year! I'm praying for you to to enjoy your kids and make the best parenting choices that you can. Train them up!

And, for a laugh this mother's day, check out this SNL skit. Humor makes this job better, doesn't it?

Happy Mothers Day!

Scrapbook Alchemy w/ Jessica Sprague

This layout was created via the instruction of Jessica Sprague in her first episode of Scrapbook Alchemy. She teaches a variety of digital scrapbooking classes, and this was the first hybrid class she has offered.

Now that I've taken a couple of Jessica Sprague's classes, I highly recommend them! Visit her site and even try out a free class for all paper or digital+paper just to see what she's like. She teaches classes in both Photoshop and Photoshop Elements software, and even will be offering a class in Microsoft Word (so no one has the excuse that they can't do digital!)

I'm a big fan. Are you?

Happy NSD!

Yep, it's here. One of my favorite holidays. Basically because I feel like I need an excuse to do anything fun for myself.

This is the second year I've celebrated National Scrapbooking Day. And I invite you to join me too!

(Here's the only chance I'll get at being on the cover of CK... you can do it to by visiting their blog today!)

Locally in Pullman here, stop by our local scrapbook store Paper Pals for lots of deals through the day. They have those listed on their blog here.

Online, there are many many places to play today, but for time's sake, I'll just throw out one idea here. Visit the Creating Keepsakes Blog for freebies and prizes.

Catch ya later! Going to be hangin' with some girlfriends scrappin' away (and celebrating an early Cinco de Mayo too) later today.

Happy scrappin'!
