Adornit LOVE Wood Banner

This was a new one for me. And now it's a favorite!

I'd not covered wood with paper and embellished it... but Adornit has made such a great wood letter banner series (with instructions on the packaging even!) that I couldn't resist trying it out.

Karen at Paper Pals had all the products and gave me the help I needed to do the project (She's great for that--stop in to the store for inspiration and assistance, too.)

I used the Making Memories "Love Struck" line-- so cute. I like to use simple geometric patterned paper and then embellishing from there.

I love Glossy Accents and Stickles, so I decorated all the letters with one or the other. The fun hanging wood shapes are also embellished with gloss and glitters. I used several pieces from the "Love Struck" valentine tag sheet and glitter stickers too.

My daughter even got to help! She loves being a part of my "grown up" crafts, but I'm also selective of the "help" I receive. She did a GREAT job painting the back sides of the letters with brown acrylic paint.

Have you done wood projects before? Or do they intimidate you? I encourage you to try something-- they're not as hard as you may think! Let me know if you have any questions about the process.

You Guessed It!

Ding ding ding! And the winner is KRISTI!!!

It is, indeed, a logo for my "business" Angela Lenssen Design. It is not however, a new venture. I've done work under that business name for a couple of years now. I always intended to give myself a branded look, so here it is!

(Finally... like the plumber with the leaky pipes... a graphic design business with no logo??? Really? How embarrassing.)

I'm not intending on searching out a lot more of the freelance design work I've done in the past, but I do want to evaluate where I should be heading. My kids are getting a little older and I'm feeling the pull (for multiple reasons) back to the work force.

So what would Angela Lenssen Design look like? It really depends on what people 'round here want and need. More graphic design? Marketing plans? Advertising ideas? Photography? Possibly teaching some classes-- intro to digiscrapping? Blogging? Photo editing and/or organizing??? Or, simply using my experience as a springboard for a job where someone else is boss?

So my dearest readers-- if you could learn more about/ benefit from one of these things, what would it be? I really want to know. It will give me much needed direction.

Shelle and Molly, I love your creativity! Both of your guesses made me laugh out loud. Very clever. And I had not realized that my hubby's first initial was a prominent part of the artwork. I guess that it's fitting to have my spouse as an integral part of my business!

Thanks for playing! And in case you're curious, here's a slideshow of some work I've done as Angela Lenssen Design in the past couple of years. We'll see what the future holds!

An Unveiling

Here's a little something that I'm excited about and I thought I'd share. But to make it fun for YOU, I'm not going to tell what it is just yet.

You get to guess.

After I get three guesses (i.e. comments w/ a guess from three different people), I'll explain the following:

What do YOU think it is???

A little gift from my crafty friend Kristi! She created this lovely little scrabble tile necklace. Quite creative, isn't it?
